Saiju Kurup-starrer Malayalam Film Gu Receives U/A Certificate by StuffsEarth

Gu, a film by Maniyanpilla Raju Productions and directed by Manu Radhakrishnan, has obtained a U/A certificate on censorship. The movie is touted to be a supernatural and horror-fantasy thriller. Devananda, known for winning hearts in Malikappuram, takes on the lead role in this film, which primarily centres around children. It promises to be a wholesome entertainer for both kids and families. The film is slated to release on May 17. Saiju Kurup plays an important character in the movie. The story begins with a young girl named Munna and her family visiting an old ancestral home in South Malabar. During their stay, they decide to revive the tradition of carrying out the Theyyam ceremony at the local temple, which hasn’t been done for 25 years. The ancestral home bustled with relatives and children, providing Munna with comfort and companionship. As the kids explore and play together, strange and frightening events start to occur. The movie delves into these occurrences and how the children, being more perceptive than the adults, attempt to unravel the mysteries.

Maniyanpilla Raju is best known for films including Idukki Gold, Nair Saab, and Devasuram. His latest release was Rani: The Real Story. Now, has a few projects lined up including Thimingala Vetta, Kudumba, Sthreeyum Kunjadum, an untitled film with Indrajith Rajesh, and a Television series Jai Mahendran.
