Rashami Desai SLAMS Trolls Fat-Shaming Her At Arti Singh’s Wedding: ‘I Can’t Look 21 Forever’ by StuffsEarth

Rashami Desai recently attended Arti Singh’s pre-wedding festivities in Mumbai when she was targeted by trolls who made several comments regarding her body weight. The actress has now given a befitting reply to them. In a recent interview, Rashami slammed those who fat-shamed her at Arti’s pre-wedding bash and stated that she does not need validation from anyone.

“In the glamour world, there’s pressure to meet certain beauty standards. But sometimes, people don’t realise what you are going through. I have been unwell for a few months,” Rashami told Hindustan Times. “You can either do what you want or listen to others. I choose the former. I don’t need validation from anyone. Trolling comes with being in the public eye; it’s a part of life,” the actress added.

Rashami further told trolls that she cannot look young all the time. “Surviving in this industry takes dedication. I can’t look 21-22 forever. My journey is beautiful, but change is hard for some people to accept,” she said. The Uttaran actress clarified that the social media negativity does not affect her anymore because she has become strong over a period of time.

“It doesn’t affect me anymore because I am not born with a golden spoon. Everything that I have learnt is on my own. The negativity around has never harmed me and that’s one of the reasons I have been very strong,” she continued.

“The function was Arti’s, and her wedding was more important than my appearance. The trolling changes everyday, yesterday it was about my clothes, the day before about my character and before that, for any anonymous reason, which one must not have even thought of. How much attention can you give it? You got to do what you got to do,” Rashami concluded.

Rashami Desai is known for shows like Uttaran, Dil Se Dil Tak and Naagin among others. She was also seen in Bigg Boss 13. Previously, in an interview, Rashami shared that she also wants to work in Bollywood. “As an actor, I want to explore more and I think it is my commitment to the relationship that I have with the audience. And that requires me to have patience. Things will not move my way overnight. Everything happens at its own pace and that is the beauty of it. Ever since I started my acting career, the only thing that I have learnt is that kuch acha chaiyeh toh usmein waqt lagta hai,” she told Hindustan Times.

“I want to do Bollywood. I have been dreaming and thinking about it for years. I admit that I did limit myself and my potential in some way earlier, which I want to break and explore,” the actress added.
