Ramayana: Heeramandi Duo Rimple-Harpreet Design Lord Ram, Sita Costumes For Ranbir, Sai Pallavi by StuffsEarth

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana has created a lot of buzz among the fans. Sai Pallavi, who will be making her Bollywood debut, will be seen as the lead actress. Well, recently their first look was leaked from the set. And it has just increased the excitement level. Designer duo Rimple and Harpreet have also confirmed that they are designing costumes for the lead actors.

The Indian Express quoted designers talking to IANS. The designers said that they are thrilled to be part of the film. Harpreet said, “We are absolutely elated and honoured to be entrusted with the monumental task of designing costumes for Ramayana.” While Rimple added that this opportunity “feels like a true blessing.” “Ramayana holds unparalleled significance in our country’s cultural heritage,” she added.

Harpreet further added, “Ramayana not only embodies the essence of timeless values and virtues but also serves as a guiding light for generations.”

Last week on Saturday, pictures of Ranbir and Sai Pallavi from the sets of Nitesh Tiwari’s film were leaked online. In the photos exclusively accessed by Zoom, Ranbir and Sai were seen in their Ram and Sita avatars respectively.

In the leaked photos, Ranbir wore a maroon dhoti and added a dupatta of the same colour on one of his shoulders. He also sported a long golden neckline. He looked charming in long hair and also kept a subtle smile on his face. On the other hand, Sai wore a purple saree and accessorised her look with heavy traditional jewellery. The pictures also made it clear that Ranbir and Sai are currently shooting for pre-vanvasa sequences.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that pictures from Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana sets have been leaked online. Earlier this month, Zoom obtained some pictures from the sets of the film which featured Lara Dutta and Arun Govil in their respective characters. Govil, popularly known for playing the role of Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana, will be stepping into the shoes of King Dashrath in the movie. On the other hand, Lara Dutta will be seen as Kaikeyi.

However, leaked pictures left fans angry and disappointed. Many had asked the makers to take precautions on sets. “@niteshtiwari22 sir please restrict mobiles on sets! Fans like us are viraling leaked pics of #Ramayana movie. Please take strict action against leaks (sic),” one of the fans had written.

Besides Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, Ramayana is also likely to star Yash as Ravana, whereas Sunny Deol has reportedly been locked in for the role of Hanuman. Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi are also reportedly in talks for the roles of Kumbhakarna and Vibhashana respectively.

The film is likely to release on Diwali, 2025. However, nothing has been made official yet.
