Terror group ISIS has shared a selfie of the Moscow attack gunmen praising the “bloody attack” on a “large crowd of Christians”. An offshoot of the Islamic State terror group, known as ISIS-K, claimed responsibility for the attack yesterday. The sick selfie shows the four alleged gunmen who massacred over 140 people in a packed concert hall on the outskirts of the Russian capital.

The brutal attack on the Crocus City Hall also left hundreds injured.

In the photo, the men are wearing dark baseball caps and face masks with their fingers pointing upwards – a gesture that has long-been associated with the terror group.

The pointing gesture refers to the tawhid, which translates to ‘the belief in the oneness of God’.

The black Islamic State flag hangs on the wall in the background.

The photo was circulated by ISIS’ official news agency Amaq.

In a note accompanying the selfie, ISIS-K revealed the motivations behind the terrorist attack – the deadliest in Russia since the Beslan school siege 20 years ago.

ISIS-K claimed the brutal massacre was part of the “raging war between the Islamic State and countries fighting Islam”.

They said that the gunmen had been tasked with killing Christians and were armed with “machine guns, a pistol, knives and incendiary bombs”.

The statement from the terror group specifies that the gunmen shot “dozens of Christians in the heads and slaughtered a number of them inside the hall and its corridors”.

The violent offshoot of ISIS seeks to create a caliphate across Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Iran, a region historically known as the Khorasan Province during the medieval era.

Earlier this month, Russia’s FSB said it foiled an ISIS-K attack on a Moscow synagogue.

Vladimir Putin announced today that all four gunmen responsible for the shooting had been arrested after being caught fleeing toward Ukraine.

Russia’s interior ministry confirmed that the four suspects were all foreign citizens.
