“Non-human” specimens discovered in Peru over the summer are nothing more than dolls, forensic experts have ruled.
The tiny figures, which have three fingers on each hand and elongated heads reminiscent of ET, were constructed out of paper, glue, metal and animal bones, the country’s prosecutor’s office said Friday.
Forensic archaeologist Flavio Estrada, who led the examinations, poured cold water on conspiracies circulating online since the objects were made public this year. He said: “The conclusion is simple: they are dolls assembled with bones of animals from this planet, with modern synthetic glues, therefore they were not assembled during pre-Hispanic times.
“They are not extraterrestrials; they are not aliens.”
The analysis team on Friday showed assembled reporters the two-foot-long figures dolled up in red, orange and green clothes.

They said closer inspection revealed that that bird, dog and other animal bones were used to create the creepy effigies, except for their “very poorly” constructed hands, which had been made with human bones.
Officials still haven’t discovered who owns the bizarre creations, saying only that they had been sent to a Mexican citizen before being seized by South American customs agents.
Ufologist José Jaime Maussan and some Mexican lawmakers sent conspiracy theories into overdrive when they emphatically claimed on the floor of Congress that the figures were authentic alien subjects.
Maussan claimed that the mystery creatures, whom he named Clara and Mauricio, were between 700 and 1,800 years old, and were found in around 2017 in Cusco, Peru, near the pre-Columbian Nazca Lines.
“This is the first time it (extraterrestrial life) is presented in such a form and I think there is a clear demonstration that we are dealing with non-human specimens that are not related to any other species in our world,” he said at the time.
In December, Maussan and researchers testified that 30 percent of the remains’ DNA is from an “unknown species,” with the origin of the remaining DNA unclear.
The team also showed images of the corpses they said proved the figures didn’t have lungs or ribs.
Though the true nature of the model’s composition is now known, how they arrived in Mexico after being seized in Peru remains under investigation.
Borrowed by Maussan for the hearing in September, they were in the possession of a Mexican man who declined to be identified.
Asked at the time how the objects came to be in his possession, the man replied only that he would reveal all “at the appropriate time”.
