Alia Bhatt And Ranbir Kapoor To Reunite With SLB For A Love Story? Vicky Kaushal In Talks Too; Deets by StuffsEarth

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to begin working on a one-of-a kind love story. Buzz is that the filmmaker is all set to reunite with Alia Bhatt as well as Ranbir Kapoor for his next film. Reportedly, Vicky Kaushal is also in talks for the same project. It’s an original love story, and not, Inshallah. 

A source close to the production house informed Pinkvilla that both Ranbir and Alia heard the narration and loved the story. Alia has in fact signed the dotted lines, and Ranbir is yet to finalize the same. “To set things straight, it’s an original love story and not, inshallah. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been very keen to take a step back from the period drama’s intense tone. He has been looking to make a love story, and this subject has been at the back of his mind for a while now. SLB feels this is the best time to make a love story and is very excited to tap this genre,” the source shared.

The source further added, “Both Ranbir and Alia heard the narration and loved what they heard. While Alia has already signed the dotted lines, the talks with Ranbir are in the advanced stages.”

On a closing note, the source added, “Vicky is of course excited to come on board SLB’s film and is figuring out his dates for the later part of the year. Once the dates are sorted, he will sign the dotted lines. Vicky has loved the subject.”

Bhansali, who was keen on starting work on his ambitious musical drama Baiju Bawra with Ranveer and Alia, will now be reviewing the project later. Reportedly, he is refining the script.

SLB is currently shooting for his upcoming series Heera Mandi, which is centered on the courtesans in India’s pre-Independence era. Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Sheikh feature in the historical drama series, which transports audiences to a time when courtesans reigned as monarchs. Through the stories of courtesans and their clients set against the turbulent backdrop of the Indian Independence struggle in the 1940s, the series investigates the cultural reality of the namesake area of Heera Mandi.

Through his last film, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali woke up audiences throughout the world. The movie spent weeks at the top of the global Netflix rankings.
