World War 3 map shows the safest and most dangerous countries | World | News by StuffsEarth

Global tensions have been rising as new crises emerge in the Middle East, Asia, and Eastern Europe. The increased insecurity and rivalry between global superpowers have led to fears of a World War Three breakout.

People, concerned about the possibility of a global conflict, are eager to identify the safest places to head to escape a future war.

Below we have a look at where around the world would provide the highest levels of security if the worst should happen and a global war erupts.

First on the list is the traditionally neutral country of Switzerland. With a mountainous landscape and numerous nuclear shelters built deep into the Alps, Switzerland would be an ideal place to hide out in the event of a global war.

Moving on, the large island of Greenland in the North Atlantic could provide a good alternative. The Danish territory is vast but underpopulated with only 56,000 inhabitants.

For this reason, Greenland would likely be overlooked in any military action by the rival superpowers.

Similarly, Iceland would be another possible location to wait out World War Three with peaceful relations and an abundance of hot water springs and geothermal energy.

Moving to the other side of the globe we find Fiji which is another contender. Fiji is sitting in the southwest of the Pacific Ocean some 2,700 miles away from its closest neighbour, Australia.

With warm waters bursting with plentiful fish, sandy beaches and vegetation for cover the island makes a solid candidate.

In the southern hemisphere, South Africa is another country worth considering given its infrastructure, position and availability of wild game and fertile land.

Similarly, New Zealand despite being a Commonwealth member is likely to pass under the radar of rival superpowers given the nation’s historic peaceful dealing with the rest of the world.

New Zealand is also mountainous so offers would be refugees a good amount of protection.

But perhaps the best option is not a country but an entire continent.

Antarctica would be a handy place to disappear due to its massive size.

Practically deserted the area would be unlikely to attract much attention while the landscape and climate would make it hard to sustain much more than a basic lifestyle.
