WWE founder Vince McMahon has been accused of sexual abuse and trafficking in a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant. WWE and John Laurinaitis, the former WWE head of talent relations, are also named as defendants.

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut on Thursday, January 25.

According to the lawsuit, Grant was trafficked “as a pawn to secure talent deals.”

McMahon allegedly instructed Grant to “create personalized sexual content for a WWE superstar that he was trying to re-sign.” The “superstar” was identified as Brock Lesnar, according to Khadeeja Safdar of the Wall Street Journal.

She also alleges that McMahon and another executive locked her in her office and took turns sexually assaulting her. McMahon is also accused of sending explicit text messages and locking her in his private locker room, where he “forced himself on her.”

Grant accused McMahon of promising to pay her $3 million after signing an NDA.

McMahon, Laurinaitis, and Lesnar have not commented on the allegations in the lawsuit.

In June 2022, McMahon stepped down as WWE CEO after an investigation discovered he agreed to pay $3 million to a former employee he had an affair with. He was also accused of raping referee Rita Chatterton in 1986.

The news comes just days after WWE reached a 10-year, $5 billion deal with Netflix to move Monday Night Raw to the streaming service beginning in January 2025.
