A TikTok user has warned travellers to steer clear of airport charging stations because they could be a risk to your phone’s security.
User @travelpiratesus.io shared the video warning about the charging ports often situated in airports.
“Do not put your phone in those, do not charge your phone there. You will regret it,” she said.
She also mentioned that the FBI has called this threat “juice jacking,” where hackers use USB ports to steal your information.
“Cybercriminals use USB ports and airports and stations to steal your data. Fun, right?” she joked in her post.

However, some TikTok users have shared another safe way to power your devices.
One person said you can use normal plugs with your charger or special USB cables that only send power, not data.
