Indices: Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.09% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:15AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.06 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.19 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent) and Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.84 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.53 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.5 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.41 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.09 per cent at 51394.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 17.36 points at 25261.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 70.11 points at 82489.73. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato, HFCL, Jio Financial Services and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tembo Global Ind, Geojit Financial, Bombay Burmah, Matrimony.com and Coral India Finance hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Globale Tessile, Mahalaxmi Fabric Mil, Revathi Equipment, Divgi Torqtransfer and 3rd Rock MultiMedia hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
