At the same time, heat wave may occur in some parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Bihar today (June 18). On June 17, the maximum temperature in Prayagraj reached 47.6 degrees Celsius and Nubra located in the high Himalayas reached 26.2 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has forecast no change in the maximum temperature in North-West India during the next 24 hours. After this, the temperature is expected to drop by 2 degrees Celsius. However, central and eastern India will continue to grapple with high temperatures for the next three days and some relief is expected after that.

Delhiites may soon get relief from the scorching heat. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be drizzle on June 19 and 20. The people of the capital, scorching in the temperature of 45 degrees, are now waiting for the monsoon. A yellow alert for heatwave has been issued today. The maximum temperature will be 45 and the minimum temperature will be 34 degrees. Despite light drizzle on 19 and 20, the maximum temperature will remain at 43 degrees. Strong winds will blow from 21 to 23 June and the sky will remain partly cloudy. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature is expected to be 43 and the minimum temperature is 33 degrees.

Weather of Bihar-Jharkhand

At the same time, there may be light rain with thunder in Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha during the next 2 days. During this time, strong winds can blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour. Along with this, heavy rain has been predicted at some places in Odisha on June 20 and 21, 2024.

Punjab and Haryana are also scorching

Talking about Punjab and Haryana, there is a yellow and orange alert of heat wave from 18 to 21 June. During this time there is a possibility of thunderstorms here too. The Meteorological Department has also predicted strong winds in the meantime.

Chances of rain in these states

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be drizzle with thunder in Gujarat state, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during the next 5 days. Heavy rains may occur in Konkan and Goa and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and some places in Gujarat during June 18 to 21. Rain activities will intensify in Mumbai from June 19. Light rain with thunder may occur in Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep. At the same time, heavy rains may also occur in some areas. Drizzle may occur in Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
