A General Motors plant in Flint, Michigan, is freeing up some time on its employees’ schedules this weekend.
According to The Detroit Free Press, the GM plant is changing its work hours for the third shift — also known as the overnight shift — on Sunday night so that employees don’t have to worry about missing their beloved Detroit Lions taking on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship.
It is the Lions’ first NFC Championship appearance since 1991, and Dan Campbell’s team is looking to punch their ticket to the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl.
So the employees can watch every second of the game, the GM plant decided to delay the 10:00 p.m. start time for the shift by one hour to 11:00 p.m. for the “rare, unique opportunity” that Lions have this weekend.

That’s one way to boost company morale. Let’s just hope that the Lions do their part and come away with a win on the road at Levi’s Stadium.
