Blessy’s directorial ‘Palunku’ has completed 17 years since its initial release. The film starring Mammootty, Nazriya Nazim, Lakshmi Sharma, and Baby Nivedita was released on 22 December 2006. As the film clocked 17, Blessy dropped a video on Facebook, in which he spoke about how the film was born. “With Palunku completing 17 years since its release, we revisit the tale that shook the core of our souls. A realistic depiction of excess aspiration leading to agony, the movie’s theme remains relevant as society still grapples with unfortunate incidents of physical abuse,” Blessy wrote.
