Stuffsearth.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the rose 0.06%.

The best performers of the session on the were Solvay SA (EBR:), which rose 1.51% or 0.48 points to trade at 32.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Cofinimmo SA (EBR:) added 1.21% or 0.75 points to end at 62.50 and Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:) was up 1.11% or 2.00 points to 181.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Umicore SA (EBR:), which fell 1.40% or 0.16 points to trade at 11.24 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:) declined 0.80% or 0.65 points to end at 80.95 and Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:) was down 0.79% or 0.55 points to 69.20.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 49 to 48 and 14 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:) rose to all time highs; up 1.11% or 2.00 to 181.80.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.24% or 6.15 to $2,533.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.99% or 0.73 to hit $74.28 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.77% or 0.59 to trade at $77.52 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 101.61.
