At CES, Intel announces deal to buy Silicon Mobility SAS

Intel agreed to buy Silicon Mobility SAS, a fabless silicon and software company that develops system-on-chips for intelligent electric-vehicle energy management.

The purchase is one of the plans Intel

announced at CES to bring its “AI everywhere strategy into the automotive market.”

Silicon Mobility SAS is a portfolio company of Cipio Partners and Capital-E. An Intel press release didn’t give the purchase price. In 2018, the company reported that it completed a $10 million Series B round of funding.
